I am the master of my fate

Watched the movie, Invictus last night,  in VO ( Version Originale) with Mr Getrealfrance .. he, of course loved it, all that male bonding, ugh ughing and macho rugby scenes. I must say, I am a total sucker when it comes to watching movies as we rarely watched tv as kids and I'm totally swept away by any stupid plot ( I have been known to cry at The Simpsons, for chrissake!)
As an aside, I don't think that Morgan Freeman's voice should ever be dubbed ... I've watched him in a few dubbed movies here in France and it is just not the same at all. "ça casse tout" as our polish friend Greg is fond of saying...
Anyway, here's the inspirational poem , Invictus by William Ernest Henley, which kept Nelson Mandela alive apparently, while imprisoned in South Africa for over 27 years .. I like it...

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
